Carpooling that actually works.

Dynamically matching drivers and riders on the basis of shared routes turns every in-progress commute into opportunistic transit for anyone along the way. Here's what that looks like in practice.

How a trip comes together.

Open the app, get matched on a shared stretch of route, and go. The driver accepts first — then the offer comes to the rider.

01

Open the app

Tap Drive or Ride — or schedule for later. We already know your home and work, so there's nothing to type, and matching starts on the commute you're already making.

02

Driver accepts

A driver heading that way sees the rider's pickup, drop-off, and any toll — and taps Accept. Decline, and the offer simply moves on; nobody's locked in.

03

Rider accepts

Only then does the offer reach the rider — driver, route, and a short countdown to confirm. One tap and the match is set; the driver heads to pickup.

Not ready yet?

Schedule it ahead.

Heading out later? You don't have to be standing at the curb to set a trip up. Plan ahead and let the matches come to you.

Within 24 hours. Pick a time later today or tomorrow, and we line up a match for then.

Every week. Set the days you commute and whether you're driving, riding, or open to either. Nubly handles the recurring match.

The money goes straight from rider to driver.

Every dollar flows through Stripe, the credit card processor — the same payment infrastructure behind Shopify, Instacart, and DoorDash. Here's the path each contribution takes.

RIDER PAYS

Card charged on drop-off

The rider's saved card is charged the full contribution at the moment the trip completes. Every receipt shows the exact math: IRS rate × miles ÷ occupants, plus toll share.

DIRECT TRANSFER

Straight to the driver, in full

The rider's contribution goes directly to the driver's account.

DRIVER RECEIVES

Credited right away, payout on schedule

The contribution is credited to the driver's account right away. Payouts to the driver's bank happen on the driver's chosen schedule — every 2 weeks, monthly, or on-demand.

Drive today. Ride tomorrow.

Most of our users do both — it's the best of both worlds. Drive on days when your car's the right call and you want the HOV lane. Ride on days when you want to answer email, take a call, or just not deal. Save time when you drive. Save money when you ride. Same app, same network, same people.
