Every contribution is derived from the IRS standard mileage rate (76¢/mi) for the miles shared, and adjusted for the number of riders on the trip. All of it goes to the driver, and the driver never receives more than the cost of the miles actually driven — by design. Fees are added on top of that contribution, never taken out of it, so the driver's reimbursement stays honest to the IRS rate. Fees are waived in full by the Founding Member Program, so nothing is added on top of that contribution today.
